About REA
Our mission is to support, honor, and connect Rice engineers before and after graduation.
Founded in 1938, Rice Engineering Alumni (REA) is the oldest alumni affinity group at Rice. We are dedicated to supporting current students, engaging alumni, and strengthening the George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing.
Each year, REA provides over $150,000 in awards and scholarships to outstanding students, recruits students for meaningful internships, and creates opportunities for alumni to mentor and connect with current Rice engineers.
Membership in REA is granted automatically upon graduation, and all members are welcome at any REA event. At its core, REA is about paying it forward — continuing a tradition of alumni supporting fellow alumni, the school and the students who will shape the future of engineering.
